Updating this website has been a project that started more than five years ago and somehow kept drifting to the back burner. I’ve always preferred building guitars over building web pages, and writing about either isn’t exactly my natural habitat. But eventually the site needed attention, and I finally committed to giving it the overhaul it deserved.
I originally built the new version in Webflow, which was a great way to get things moving. But over time I realized I didn’t want to be locked into their hosting, and I wanted more control over how everything worked under the hood. About a year ago I decided to learn WordPress — a platform I had avoided for years because it always felt more like a blogging tool than a real website builder. Turns out, with enough stubbornness and trial‑and‑error, you can make it do just about anything.
So this site is something I built myself, piece by piece. It’s been a slow process, partly because I’d rather be in the shop than in front of a screen, and partly because learning a new system while trying to keep the business running is… well, let’s call it “character‑building.”
The last week has been especially fun. While getting ready for a guitar show, I’ve also been trying to get the site into some kind of presentable shape. My hosting provider managed to break a number of image URLs during a migration, and the technical team kept misunderstanding the problem, which made things even more interesting. Backgrounds disappeared, layouts fell apart, and the whole site looked like it had been put through a blender.
But progress is happening. Bit by bit, things are getting fixed, cleaned up, and brought back to life. The site still isn’t perfect, but it’s moving in the right direction — and at least now it reflects where my work is headed.
Thanks for your patience while I get everything sorted out. I’d much rather be building guitars, but the website deserves good craftsmanship too.
